Christopher W. Vaughn-Martel, Managing Partner

Areas of Practice:

Attorney Vaughn-Martel's practice focuses on all aspects of real estate law, including residential purchase and sales, petitions to partition real estate and other owner disputes, condominium development and representation, and landlord-tenant.  Since becoming a lawyer, Chris has practiced in the unique and growing field of family creation and fertility law, including adoption, donor agreements, surrogacy, and parentage.  With a background in litigation, Chris zealously advocates for his clients in real estate, personal injury and other civil disputes.

Bar Admissions & Memberships:

Chris was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2006.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, and the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association.

Pro Bono & Community Involvement:

Chris serves as a pro bono attorney for the Rape Survivors' Law Project at the Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) in Boston, providing legal representation for victims of sexual assault in privacy, safety, housing, education, employment, and financial compensation matters.

Honors & Awards:

In 2011, Chris  received the Shining Star Award  from the Victim Rights Law Center, given  each year to one individual in recognition of outstanding advocacy on behalf of sexual assault survivors.

Chris was recognized by colleagues as a Massachusetts Rising Star in Boston Magazine's annual list of Super Lawyers for the years 2009 and 2016.  No more than 2.5% of Massachusetts lawyers are named to the list of Rising Stars.

Bachelor of Arts, History, Marist College, 2000

During law school, Chris served on the Executive Board of the Queer Law Alliance and provided advocacy and outreach to indigent persons through Shelter Legal Services in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  He also served as an intern for an employment and civil rights law firm in Boston, where he assisted in the prosecution of an employment discrimination case against the City of Revere Police Department.

Following graduation, Chris worked as an associate in a real estate and family law firm on Boston's South Shore.

Additional Information:

When he is not in the office, Chris rows with Gentle Giant Rowing Club in Somerville, Massachusetts, where he competes on the masters men's competitive crew team.  He is a proud resident of Dorchester, Massachusetts, where he lives with his husband Brian and their son Elliott.
